Control your cloud with the iPad
Since a few months I am the proud owner of an iPad. Because of our US subsidiary we were able to buy this beautiful designed little computer before it was officially released in The Netherlands, which made me feel even more proud. The feeling of owning a brand new toy is great. The thought of it makes my heart beat faster already.
Muscle in the cloud
In many documents and introductions to cloud computing we have been shown what the Cloud really means and what is possible to do inside it. Things that have been covered have been what systems make up the cloud right up to applications and services running in it.
Will growth kill your business?
As a marketeer I had the opportunity of working for several startup companies in the past. One company, launched in 1999, offered similar services as Ebay and had an European footprint in The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain and several Eastern-European countries. When I came in the office on my first working day, the office consisted of 6 desks, 6 computers and that was about it. We did not have a working site and sales collateral was not available. Basically, your typically startup situation; highly motivated employees working on materializing a great idea.
It’s foggy in the cloud
Cloud computing has many different meanings for different people. There is no unanimous policy. In short, it is still foggy in the cloud, because cloud computing is a relative new phenomenon and can be used in many different situations.

Better service at lower costs with cloud computing
When reading cloud computing surveys I constantly bump into the same arguments why companies hold back from investing in it; evidence of cost savings, assurances regarding reliability, security and potential loss of control. These arguments and concerns reflect earlier concerns when email, the Internet and instant messaging entered the workplace, for example.
Traditional Infrastructure models vs. cloud models
We have put together a small presentation which compares traditional infrastructure capacity models to cloud capacity models. The presentation perfectly visualizes the benefits of cloud computing.

Howto: Speed up WordPress sites by using Amazon Cloudfront
In my previous blog post I wrote on “Howto: Speeding up apps using a CDN“. In this post I will take it one step further and explain what I did to get the results mentioned below. Cloud computing: Vague and yet useful?
You might be looking at possibilities for your business internet infrastructure. Cloud computing crossed your mind but you want to be as far as possible from it. In your world cloud computing is inherent to complexity, insecurity and most of all it’s just a buzz-word for ‘nothing new’. Think again.
