NCRV commissioned Jitscale to develop a Media Asset Management System, named Themis.

About NCRV

The NCRV is a multimedia enterprise, using her media means for a substantial contribution to the quality of society and to act as an indispensable link in strong Dutch Public Broadcasting. The NCRV considers it important to have a significant part in maintaining and improving the quality of society, especially in the fields of philosophy of life, public debate, caring society and nature & environment.

NCRV and Jitscale

To utilize media content as versatile as possible;  many media companies face this challenge. Of crucial importance is the storage of all pictures, videos, cards, PDFs, texts or audio-streams.  The storage needs to support all different file types, be easy to search, and above all, smartly use cross media possibilities. Especially relevant for the new NCRV project videotalent.nl.

Jitscale developed a high-quality digital media library. Themis, as it is now known, features cross media utilization and content management. A TV clip recorded in broadcast video format should be available in both low resolution for internet and high resolution for future (internet) television. Themis can handle both. Themis offers high resolution pictures that automatically convert to low resolution for the web. Besides this flexible output, the search options of Themis are great. The possibility of adding meta data to media-files is being used optimally. Thus one can, for example, make a selection in Themis of all videos containing dogs, trees and the colour red.

Another distinct feature of Themis is the use of open standards making it very easy to link the digital media library to existing Content Management Systems. If the CMS is compatible with XML, Themis is able to exchange content.
